2/9/2012 0 Comments Brothers In The HouseWe are very pleased to welcome Br Adrian back to the College this week. Br Adrian has completed his work and study in San Francisco and is now in the role of Liaison Brother, so we should be seeing him more frequently.
With the Leader's Mass taking place tomorrow we are also expecting a visit from Br Declan and Br Colin - it will feel a little like old times.

2/7/2012 0 Comments Another Sporting SphereOn Saturday 4th feb our Francis Douglas Memorial College Rowing Crew competed in the Wanganui Championships. The boys did extremely well winning their first race of the day, Boys under 15 Four in which they did so convincingly by 200m. Their second race, Boys under 15 Quad was a little closer with the boys winning by a boat length and then they combined with 4 rowers from New Plymouth Boys High School to make up a Novice Men's 8, in which they won by 300m. The boys started training well before November and have been working hard during the summer, building up for Secondary Schools Nationals - Maadi Cup which is held in Twizel at the end of MArch. The crew consist of Du'Plessis Kirifi, Corbin Porteous, Joshua Fitzsimons, Isaiah Schwanen, and Polaiu'amea Kirifi. Well done Boys you deserve you gold medals for all your hard work. 2/3/2012 0 Comments Year 7 CampAnother recent tradition at the College has been the Year 7 camp in the first week of the year. This year's newbies can be seen waiting patiently for their dinner on Thursday night.
The boys usually stay under canvas for the night but wet weather has also become a tradition for this event, so they all got to sleep on the floor of the Gym. A ggod intro to a place they will be spending a lot of time in over the next 7 years. 2/1/2012 0 Comments The FDMC Magazine 2011The 2011 School Magazine has been released to students today - it is another great effort from Jane Connolly and her team.
