3/9/2012 0 Comments Conrad's CupWe had a visit this week from the Rugby World Cup. It says something about William Webb Ellis on the trophy but around here it is very much Conrad Smith's!

3/7/2012 0 Comments Boarding NewsThere is always plenty happening in the hostel - or La Salle House as we now refer to it. We have attached their latest newsletter to this post so you can download and catch up with what happens in a modern hostel. It may seem a little strange to those who remember itin the 60's and 70's.
3/6/2012 0 Comments The Lasallian FoundationThe following is from an email we recently received from Br Paul Smith. We believe you have to be in Aussie to enter the competition but that may well be the case for a lot of old boys. It is interesting to see the Lasallian Foundation taking a very modern approach. 3/2/2012 0 Comments The Spirit Of LentThe following is a message from long time staff member Peter Costello. Peter coordinates our charitable programmes within the College and it is great to see that the modern student is maintaining the spirit of giving.
During the six weeks of Lent we are running our annual Caritas Appeal. This is run under the auspices of the Catholic Bishops of NZ. The students are responding extremely well this year. They are asked to "give little lots" - each Vertical Form time the Caritas box is handed around and students make their donations. As well as hundreds of dollars given in this way there have also been some very large donations made, some seniors giving over $100 each. After just one week of Lent the school total has passed $900 - a reflection of the true Lasallian spirit that FDMC encourages. |
