6/13/2013 0 Comments Looking SharpThis photo was taken several weeks ago of the O'Shea Shield team. While the results were not as good as we may have hoped there is no doubt our guys always present well.
Pictured front row centre is Satch Pryor who is not only quick with a word but has just been named in the NZ Under 17 Rugby League team - sharp and multi-talented!

6/11/2013 3 Comments The 2012 MagazineWhile there have been some delays in producing and distributing the 2012 College Magazine it is out now and in the hands of current students. If you would like to view the latest Cardinal, Blue and Gold it is available as a downloadable (but rather large) file on our home page. 6/10/2013 0 Comments The NewsJust a reminder that twice a month we load the College Newsletter on to our site for any one who wants to keep up with the day to day details of college life. The most recent newsletter can be viewed at College Newsletter.
6/7/2013 0 Comments A Face In The CrowdWe make be based in New Plymouth but the old boys network is global and always watching! We could not then miss the brief, but typical, glimpse of old boy Sam Barrett celebrating the Black Caps win at Lords. We suspect the lady in black beside him also has FDMC connections, as her brother Josh Hickford was a student here not so many years ago.
If you find snaps of old boys in strange, exotic or interesting places, please send them on so we can all partake of the excitement. 6/6/2013 0 Comments The Top HakaFounder's Day was also the day for our inter house haka competition. All four houses rocked the gym before a panel of judges and kaumatua with Loreto being declared the champion house for 2013. Great to see old boy Ruka Te Moana helping to judge the competition and he had some positive things to say about the way the haka has developed at the college.
6/5/2013 0 Comments Results UpdateBoth the 1st Xi Football and 1st XV Rugby teams have been in action today. The 1st XI went down 4 - 2 to a strong PNBHS team in very cold and windy conditions at FDMC. In Wellington the conditions were no better but our 1st XV came out on top of St Pat's Town with a 28 to 13 victory. This means they remain unbeaten in the Hibernian Cup competition.
6/4/2013 0 Comments Founder's Day MassFounder's Day Friday has come and gone but the good vibe of the occasion remains. The college packed out St Joseph's church and we were able to surround the altar with donations for the New Plymouth food bank. A great effort and always much appreciated.
We were pleased to have representatives from De La Salle and John Paul College at the events of the day while Br Jack Iremonger was there to represent the De La Salle Brothers. And yes, the quality of pies at the end of the festivities was of the usual high standard. |
