6/11/2014 0 Comments Happy And SadWe don't have any pics from today's games against St Bernards but will hunt some up tomorrow. We have been given access to this pic which does seem to sum up the highs and lows of College encounters. The more we can stay on the high side the better!

6/9/2014 0 Comments Our AmbassadorsPictured above is our 4 man Future Problem Solving team who are this week representing as and New Zealand at the World Champs in Iowa. Kurt Biesek, Ryan Sadler, Patrick Fisher-Evans and Louis Poole were made Taranaki Ambassadors last week at a ceremony at the NP District Council. Robyn Wackrow and Tina Dalliston (not pictured) have spent a lot of time and energy helping put the whole trip together and we are sure the guys will exhibit the special character of the College by being outstanding when it most counts.
6/5/2014 0 Comments Magazine 2013It is a long read, but here is the 2013 College Magazine. Well done Jane Connolly and the contributors on another great summary of a year's endeavours. 6/4/2014 0 Comments The Son Of ...Pictured left is Paddy Ford who was named Player of the Day by the Sky Sports team in Saturday's bug game. Paddy is one of six players in the team who are the sons of old boys. The list goes something like Kevin & Paddy Ford Paul & Liam Bernet Kevin & Jordie Barrett Gerard & Thomas Kalin Tom & Joseph Brophy Carl & Slade Whalen You could make a case for the continuity of culture being a building block to much of our sporting success at FDMC. 6/3/2014 0 Comments Looking For FrankWhile there were a large number of recent old boys present at our get together on the weekend it was great to welcome a few guys from the early days. We received the following email from Bill Kilkolly and Bill Lynch and would like to answer their question about the whereabouts of Frank Dunlop. If you have any ideas please leave a comment or a contact. Just a quick note to thank you for organising the get together Queens birthday weekend. It was a pity that there were not a few more geriatrics there to chew the fat with but that is a sign of the times, however it was tremendous to see the great college spirit amongst the young fellas. Bill Lynch and I had a great time as Taranaki turned on beautiful weather. 6/1/2014 0 Comments A Fine Day And A Great ResultThe 1st XV are pictured above admiring the John George/Max Carroll Trophy having been the first team from FDMC to win the annual fixture back to back. It was a pretty tight encounter, with plenty of mistakes, but the boys worked hard and exerted just enough pressure to earn the victory.
Thanks to all those who came along in support of the team and who were so quick to offer their congratulations. A small group of recent old boys proved to be a bit of an embarrassment after the game so being classy both on and off the field is something we need to keep working on. The result does mean that the 1st XV will move on in the national knock out competition but that game will be some weeks away. Next up is a game against Wanganui Collegiate in Wanganui next Saturday - just another must win! |
