10/7/2012 0 Comments A Sad MessageWe received an email from past Principal Br Peter Ryan this morning containing the following sad news.
I just wanted to let you know that Chris Elmer's - old boy of FDMC (1978 I think) and former Brother passed away in Melbourne this morning. He was 51. Chris had been in hospital for a few days in Melbourne when he unexpectedly suffered a massive stroke on Tuesday night. His brother arrived from Perth on Thursday and his mother from Stratford early this morning. The life support was turned off a little after 9 and Chris passed away peacefully a short time later. I don't have any funeral details but I understand that Chris will be cremated in Melbourne and his ashes repatriated to New Zealand with a requiem Mass and funeral in Stratford. Br Ray Khan had been with Chris for much of the week. Chris was an old boy of the college who we know followed his old school closely and was a regular reader of this blog. He spent some time in the 1990's teaching at FDMC and working in the hostel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Pictured above is our victorious league team after their great win last week. You can tell that there is more than a few genuine characters in the side. |
