Introducing the next Principal of Francis Douglas Memorial College

The Board of Trustees of Francis Douglas Memorial College announced today that they have appointed current Deputy Principal, Tim Stuck, as their new Principal.  He will also serve as CEO for the school’s hostel and lead them both from the start of the 2021 school year.

Board Chairperson David Leuthart reports that Mr Stuck is a well-established and much admired entity within the College and his application and interview for the position served to reinforce to the Board that he is a very good fit for the school and best placed to lead it and its hostel into the future.  The Board of Trustees has been pleased to make a decision that every one of them is comfortable with and excited about.

Mr Stuck has taught at the College since 2006 and has been Deputy Principal (Pastoral) for the last six years.  His strengths include his wealth of knowledge and experience in working collaboratively with teams and strengthening outcomes and wellbeing for the students.  Mr Stuck has built relationships with the entire school community and is visible and approachable.  He sets high expectations and expects students to reach their full potential in all areas of school life.  His passion as an educator is evident.

Departing Principal, Martin Chamberlain, states, “I am delighted that Tim will be taking over my role because I know the school will be in very capable hands.  His background and natural attributes mean he is well known in our community as friendly, intelligent, energetic and sensible and he knows most of our parents as well as he knows their sons.  Tim and his father Bruce, are products of this school and his son Harry is a current student.  He has a passion for this place, and apart from the aspects that make him a community favourite, he has diligently groomed himself for the role by seeking out every opportunity to experience all aspects of the school’s and hostel’s operations.  FDMC is very fortunate to have him as Principal.”

Mr Stuck comments, “It will be both an honour and privilege to lead FDMC from 2021 into the future.  Whatever the young men do, whether it’s academia, sport, service or culture, I look forward to seeing the value we add as a whole school community when they walk out of our gates.  Our mission at FDMC is provide a quality education that enables students to reach their potential and ensure they are well-prepared for their futures beyond school.  I am excited to play my part in laying the foundations for Good College Men to take their place in society.”
