On Saturday 4th feb our Francis Douglas Memorial College Rowing Crew competed in the Wanganui Championships. The boys did extremely well winning their first race of the day, Boys under 15 Four in which they did so convincingly by 200m. Their second race, Boys under 15 Quad was a little closer with the boys winning by a boat length and then they combined with 4 rowers from New Plymouth Boys High School to make up a Novice Men's 8, in which they won by 300m.
The boys started training well before November and have been working hard during the summer, building up for Secondary Schools Nationals - Maadi Cup which is held in Twizel at the end of MArch. The crew consist of Du'Plessis Kirifi, Corbin Porteous, Joshua Fitzsimons, Isaiah Schwanen, and Polaiu'amea Kirifi.
Well done Boys you deserve you gold medals for all your hard work.
