The Central North Island rugby competition got underway for FDMC yesterday with our teams travelling to sunny Wanganui to play Wanganui Collegiate. It proved a good start to the comp with the 2nd XV having a solid 19 to 0 win and the 1st XV showing a lot of flair to come away with a 35 to 21 victory.
Next up is St Peter's from Cambridge who visit the College next Saturday.
Founder's Day last Friday saw the whole school celebrate mass at St Joseph's and as expected the generous donation of food for the Foodbank was a feature. It was also great to welcome Br David Hawke, Br Adrian Watson and Br Sir Pat Lynch along to share in the occasion. Br David taught at FDMC in the early 1970's and is currently in charge of the Brothers in Australia, New Zealand, PNG and Pakistan.
