5/29/2015 0 Comments Out Numbered And Out PlayedThe weather was great, the atmosphere was electric and the game was open, entertaining and played in good spirit. The only downside was the fact that NPBHS played better than we did and ran out comfortable winners 44 to 10. A couple of soft tries made the score look worse than the performance was, but there is no denying that NPBHS have a good side this year and can expect good things in their Super 8 competition.
Our boys now play St Bernard's in Wellington next Wednesday and are back to Masterton on Saturday to play Rathkele in the first of our Central North Island games. The boys are very keen to get back into that winning habit. As for NPBHS, well there is always next year.

5/27/2015 1 Comment Name That FaceHere are a couple of photos that have turned up un-named and unexplained. Can any one tell us who these guys are, where they are and what the occasion might have been?
5/26/2015 0 Comments Arise Sir PatA great image of our own Brother Sir Pat Lynch being honoured at Government House last week. A well deserved recognition of Br Pat's dedication and by association all of those Brothers, Sisters, Clergy, Lay Teachers and members of the community who have contributed to the development of Catholic education in New Zealand.
5/22/2015 0 Comments Our Expanding WorldThis week we have been celebrating International Week at the College. There have been lots of different activities and insights and it has highlighted just how much more diverse we have become. The map above records the different countries of the world from which our current student body comes. There are over 40 different countries and while we have no data from the past you have to think that is a much greater range of faces than was the norm in the early days at FDMC.
5/20/2015 0 Comments Big Day .. Next WeekNext Thursday is our annual sports exchange with NPBHS. We have had a number of enquiries about the plan for the day so we offer you the above organisation sheet. We hope to see lots of supporters there for all the codes and expect players and supporters will show true school spirit.
5/19/2015 0 Comments Looking To The FutureTonight is our annual Open Evening at the College where prospective students and parents get a chance to have a look around and ask a few questions. It is always great to see how many of these prospective "newbies" are sons of past students, so we hope to see a few more of you tonight. We promise we won't tell to many home truths about how Dad used to behave!
5/15/2015 0 Comments Running The HillSomewhere this week in between the rain, the showers, the downpours and the flooding we managed to get this year's cross country run. The sight of Pa Hill should bring back a memory or two to some old boys. Sweeter now that you don't have to run the damn thing.
For the record the winners were ... Seniors Thomas Wright Int. A Felix Webby Int. B Liam Moore Junior Brayden Herbert 5/14/2015 0 Comments Willie Talau Remains OursIt took a golden goal in extra time but our 1st Thirteen League team retain the Wiilie Talau Cup yesterday. The boys played the pride of Hawera, in Hawera, and held their nerve for a very gutsy win. They can now start planning another trip to the big smoke of Auckland for the national tournament. The 1st XI Football team had a more comfortable 6 to nil win over their Hawera counterparts and they too are getting closer to making the end of year "big dance".
5/13/2015 0 Comments Our Latest ContributionCongratulations to Ricky Riccatilli on being named in the New Zealand Under 20 rugby side for this year's World Cup. Ricky is showing his versatility by covering both hooker and prop and joins an increasingly long list of FDMC old boys who have made this team. We look forward to seeing who the next man up is.
