7/31/2013 0 Comments And Another OneWe have also welcomed another old boy on to the college staff this week with the appointment of Ashley Reader-Nokes. Ashley has taken a part time PE teaching position along with responsibility for organising the FDMC football programme. Ashley left FDMC at the end of 2006 and is looking forward to developing his teaching skills in a place he knows well. It may just take a while to make the transition in his head.

7/29/2013 0 Comments Another One ReturnsAs the new term started today we welcomed some new faces to the staff. Joining us as the new teacher of music is old boy Tobias Wright. Tobias left FDMC in 1992 but has returned to the fold and we know he will fit in well once he gets his head around being on the other side of the teachers desk.
Those who recall Tobias from his school days will not the slight change in hair style and to be fair he at least has some left, which is more than a few of us can say. 7/24/2013 0 Comments Well DoneCongratulations to Scot Mellow and Logan Crowley on being named in the Hurricanes Under 18 Rugby team. We are sure that Blake Barrett and Cameron Keech must have also been very close to making the side.

While not an FDMC old boy Br Ray Khan tells us he is a member of the wider Lasallian family. Ashton is a recent old boy of De La Salle in Malvern, Melbourne. Just another reason for us to keep an eye on his progress as a top flight cricketer. The life and contribution of Father Francis Douglas is to be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Wellington on Sunday 21st July at 2.00. There will be representatives of the College at the occasion but old boys are encouraged to get along if they can. The following downloadable file has a lot more information on the event.

Daily News article here. 7/10/2013 1 Comment Welcome Back AboardIt seems to be the season for old boys visits as yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming back Lauchlan Whelan to his old school. Lachlan came to speak to senior students on behalf of the Sir Peter Blake Trust about the trust and the importance of young people getting involved in their communities.
Lauchlan left FDMC about 6 years ago and has gone on to complete a degree in Commerce and then travel the world as a naval officer. The old fella beside him hasn't been anywhere recently! 7/9/2013 0 Comments Faith, Service And CommunityCongratulations to old boys Brain Jeffares and Peter McDonald on being named as 2013 Stratford District Council Citizens of the Year.
This is only one of many awards this duo have gained over the years for their service to their local community. They are a great example of the understated, get on with what needs to be done approach that is typical of many FDMC old boys. You can read the full Daily News article here. |
