11/28/2013 0 Comments Old SchoolThis is one we missed in the Daily News last week. Hidden amongst the Junior Doctors in walk shorts and sandals are two of our old boys - Shaun Butler (extreme left) and Greg Taylor (left back). Great to see they are making progress up the medical totem pole but a little less knee would be nice.

11/27/2013 0 Comments Further To The PhotoThe photo we published last week has generated some discussion. Old Boy James Stewert has told us
"FDMC junior school v St.Mary's Blenheim annual rugby match. Shot features St.Mary's prematch team talk with John McMahon, foreground, not particularly interested in tactics" Another reliable source, in current staff member Peter Costello can confirm the details on the basis that he himself is in the picture - not that we would have recognised him! Peter tells us the St Mary's team was under 6st 7lb, the game was played at Sanders Park and that FDMC where the victors 15 to 0. Peter also recalls the flight that the boys took from Blenheim to New Plymouth, his first time in an aeroplane. He can also recall the cost of the flight as being 5 Pound 12 Shillings. 11/25/2013 0 Comments The Silverware KidsPictured above are Matthew Poole (Dux) and Eric Yang (Proxime Accesit) with some of the fruits of their academic labours. The photo is taken from the latest college newsletter which can be read here.
11/22/2013 0 Comments The Next GenerationA Great photo in today's Daily News of our Primary cricket team that is off to the national finals next week. It will be interesting to follow these guys progress through the grades as some of them are sure to add to the great FDMC cricket traditions. We will keep you posted on how they are doing next week.
11/21/2013 0 Comments Well Done Jordie!News today that current Year 12 student Jordie Barrett has been named to play for the Taranaki Mens Cricket team. Jordie is a talented sportsman (cricket/rugby/golf) who is following in the footsteps of his older brothers, and of course his dad Kevin. He is the second FDMC student to make the team in recent years, with Kurt Leuthard beginning his rep cricket career several years ago while still at school.
11/20/2013 0 Comments Agricultural DevelopmentsThe four photos below record some of the new developments at the Agrodome. We are excited about the fact that next year there will be Agriculture classes right through to Y13 with enough for two classes at Y11. Roll on the agricultural future! 11/19/2013 0 Comments A Glorious DeathWe recently found a copy of Epitaph II the book of the TV series which included an episode on the life and death of Father Francis Vernon Douglas. We have scanned Graeme Lay's written account which can be read or downlaoded below.
11/18/2013 0 Comments Addressing The TroopsWe have the Brother Visitor Br Mark McKeon with us this week. Br Mark is spending a lot of time in the air as he has been in Pakistan, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand in the space of the last fortnight. Having touched down at FDMC for a couple of days it was great that he could speak to the junior school and tell them a bit about his role and the bigger Lasallian family that they are all a part of.
11/15/2013 1 Comment More Early DaysHere is another new photo to our archives, sourced from the Bernard Woods collection. It is dated 1961 and we would be grateful if any one could give us a few more details.
11/14/2013 0 Comments Bus TimeHere is another photo we have never seen before. It was taken in 1961 and the state of the bus leaves something to be desired. Can any one confirm the story that the early buses were paid for by the parents as part of their fees? The front drive remains much the same although the trees have grown a bit!
