The last act of the rugby season is the house competition, this year won by Benildus in a close 5 - 0 victory over Solomon. In keeping with the rest of this winter it was not played on a hard and fast field.
The cost of education has increased a little over the last 60 years! This page is from the first FDMC prospectus to parents For those way too young to know, a Guinea was 1 pound 1 shilling - thats $1.10 in today's money.
We recently came across an interesting combination while looking through the College Magazine for 1976. These two students sitting side by side are none other than Neil Candy (left) and Brian Baldwin (right). Both went on to distinguish themselves as lawn bowlers later in life.
Brian now lives in Aussie where he is a bowls professional, having represented NZ on a number of occasions in his career.
Neil lives in New Plymouth and has had two sons attend the College in recent years. Neil plays bowls at West End and was part of their Fours team which came runner up in last year's Nationals.
Can you suggest other old boys who have distinguished themselves on the bowling green?
